The Tower of Al-Harnala, Part I

16th Day of Ready'reat, CY 591

We arrived at the Tower of Al Harnala and found a pile of bones and an iron statue, which Safadin identified as an iron golem. Madoc found some tracks in the accumulated dust, and this led him to a concealed door behind a tapestry. We descended down a staircase to the lower level of the tower.

We did some preparation and then opened the door into the main chamber. We saw a large room with a glass structure in the center. On top of the glass structure was a raised golden dais. A priestess wearing the black obex symbol was on the dais. Surrounding the center structure was a field of bright light. Everything in the room had a strange intensity about it. The retriever was not here.

Our entrance into the room was blocked by a field of force. Safadin was able to destroy the force wall, and Jerric quickly entered the room. When he entered the light field, he disappeared. Based on the effects in the room and what happened to Jerric, Safadin determined that the light field was part of a controlled breach connecting the room to the positive energy plane. Travelling through the light field would be dangerous.

Madoc and Creden entered the light field to try and help Jerric. A blinding light hit them as they entered the positive energy plane. Luckily, they were able to avoid its effects. This room was a glass tower with the same dimensions as the place they just left. It had a white stone structure in the center with a blue dais. Madoc noticed a small silver ring on top of the dais. We had found the Air Binder at last. A battle was already in progress between the abyssal construct, Jerric and four strange, armor-clad light creatures.

The energy in the room was overwhelming. Jerric was consumed by the effects. Creden dismissed the retriever. The luminescent creatures cast protective auras on Madoc and Creden. Madoc returned to the light field and crossed back over to the material plane, while Creden went to the altar to grab the binder.

The session ended with Madoc standing on the golden dais near the priestess, and Creden standing on the blue dais near the binder. Safadin and the priestess were preparing to do battle.
